Do you know what a prospectus is? It is a big book, a bit like a menu or catalogue, which lists all the different courses you can study at a university. Remember, a course is the subject that you study at university and most courses will be for 1 subject only. Courses at the University of Liverpool are split into 3 faculties (these are a bit like departments in your school):

• Health and Life Sciences
• Science and Engineering
• Humanities and Social Sciences

The prospectus lists important information about each course like:

• How long the course is
• How students learn (lectures, seminars, group work, or labs)
• The subjects and grades students need to get onto the course
• What careers the course can lead to

The prospectus also lists lots of important information like where you can live, whether you can study abroad on a certain course (most can!) and the support available to you at university. If you decide to go to university, you will need to look at a prospectus to help you decide which university to go to and which course to study.
